About Digimorphosis
In part, a commentary about how our digital tools, and the institutions behind them, are shaping our existence. Then also, a collection of my writings on games I enjoy, products I’ve reviewed, and how I feel we balance these things.
Blogging About Tech
I’ve been blogged pretty much since there were blogs, starting with sites like Livejournal and Blogger back in the day. My lifelong love of computers and gadgets led me into product reviews and other pursuits, including a personal blog and features on former tech sites like Your Tech Explained.
Eventually I decided I needed a site to house all of these different aspects of my interests if I could find some kind of unifying theme. Digimorphosis seemed like an apt name for that commentary.
I started with a YouTube channel and then eventually built the site to accompany it. I’m still making video content, but tend to blog more frequently since that’s what feels the most natural to me.
About Me
I’m Brian Watkins. I’ve been a professional SEO and writer since 2007. Lifelong gamer and photographer. Started making HTML websites when I was 13, then began doing that professionally in my twenties.
Goes without saying tech has been a big part of my day-to-day.
I try to be brand agnostic and try it all, and switched from being a Windows user for many years to an all-Mac setup in 2021.
While I (at this point) am not usually offered stuff like new phones and tablets for review when they first hit the markets, I try to get my hands on whatever interests me most as quickly as I can and write about it.
